The Tarkine Wilderness Lodge had been in construction for five years and has just opened to accommodate guests. Macrocarpa Pine features extensively throughout the building and all exterior structures utilise this versatile timber.
As you sink into the comfy and cushioned chairs and sofas in the lounge area, you will look up to see large Blackwood elements that will inspire you. Everywhere you look you discover other timbers, including Myrtle, Celery Top Pine and Sassafras. The unique construction design enables the immense support beams, posts and rafters to be seen inside the building. All of the timber used in the lodge has been sawmilled, dressed and processed on site.
Renewable energy powers the lodge and is sourced from a solar panel array. By day, you will have your breath taken away by the superb and sweeping views, and by night you will nestle in luxurious comfort as you sip fine wines and experience wonderful Tasmanian produce. |
